My name is Leon and I run Handbyggt. I work alone. That means you speak to the person who actually builds the site – not a salesperson who has to check with someone, and not a project manager who forwards your changes to somebody you never meet.
I build for small and medium-sized businesses, often with craft or local roots behind them. Rarely startups. Often owners who know the website is a problem but have never had a straight answer about what to ask for – and who have been offered more than they needed when they asked before.
Why no CMS
Another system is rarely the answer
Most websites this size are built on WordPress. That gives you a login where you can make changes yourself – but also plugins to keep updated, vulnerabilities that surface regularly, a monthly hosting fee, and a site that grows slower with every addition. In practice most owners log in a couple of times a year, and pay the rest of the time for a system they do not use.
A site without a CMS is finished files on a server. There is no login to take over, nothing that needs updating, and nothing that breaks on its own. It loads instantly even on weak mobile coverage. The trade-off is that you send changes to me instead of making them yourself – which suits most people, but not everyone. If it does not suit you, I will say so.

You see it before you decide
I build a real proposal with your own content, not a sketch in a design tool. It sits at a hidden address until you say yes.
Fixed price, set in advance
You get a sum before the work begins. If I estimate the agreed work wrong, that is my problem, not yours. If you change the scope, you get a price for the addition first.
Nothing is locked in with me
Domain in your name, code in your repository. Moving on to somebody else should take an afternoon.
I say no sometimes
If you need something I am not the right person for, or your current site already works, I will say so rather than sell you a build.
